Welsh speakers: Speech synthesisers?

Hi, all!

I've just recently begun learning Welsh, and even in the first few classes I've realised that the speech synthesiser I have is ... unhelpful, to say the least. I don't mind it, since the vast majority of the course is speech-oriented and I only need Jaws for the occasional writing, but I'm still curious. Any Welsh speakers out there: Is there any programme that correctly pronounces the language? A little bit of Googling gave me the impression that there probably wasn't, but Google doesn't always give the obscure answers I need, either.

Thanks in advance, and Take care,

Alison

I assume you are a United Kingdom resident, which means you are eligible for a free download of ivona's natural voices for Welsh. This was a news item on ivona.com a few months ago. If you are not a U.K. citizen, you can buy the same voices from them. This voices are sapi5, and thus should work with JAWS if you get them.

I'm not a U.K. resident, but it's good to know there actually *is* something out there! Thanks for your help!
